"Increase residential densities on selected sites shown on the attached plan to provide a modern urban interface with the Town Centre precinct. Notionally from R40 to R80 to provide a range of housing choice, decrease car dependency and develop a higher storey multiple dwelling formats for development as opposed to grouped and single residential development in close proximity to the Town Centre."
The Shire is keen to see a better connection between the Town Centre and the beach in order for Dunsborough to capitalise on its main asset, being the calm beachfront area. To this end a foreshore study incorporating a site for a beachfront cafe is in the process of being adopted and a Draft Commercial Strategy has been released for public comment which outlines a vision for the connectivity of the Dunsborough Town Centre and the beach.
